"My goal was to create a super strong bed that looked like a piece of art.
A multifunctional bed filled with secret and magical features that no one could see just by looking at it."

Hey there my name is Konrad Adderley.  I am a passionate bed designer, musician, and plant-based cooking instructor.

In addition to designing beds, I have been the bass player for the Broadway show Wicked since 2003.  Cooking is also a  big part of my life.  I believe that we should all learn to cook delicious food regardless of your status in life.

I was born and raised in the Bronx and attended Murry Bergtraum High School for business careers in lower Manhattan. I then attended Berklee College of music in Boston. Afterwards I became immersed in the New York City music scene which was vibrant at the time. We’re talking the early 80’s. I specialized in jazz, R&B, tango and Broadway musicals.  I worked with Aretha Franklin, Sonny Rollins, The Main Ingredient, Rob Thomas, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Holiday, Stanley Jordan, Gwen Guthrie, Freda Payne, The Jones Girls, Sadao Watanabee and a host of others.  I played over a dozen broadway shows including The Lion King, Dream Girls, A Chorus Line, and Truly Blessed.  I also played a bunch of off-Broadway shows and revivals that were just as much fun. To name a few, Radiant Baby, Tick Tick Boom, The Wild Party, and the Rocky Horror Show.

When designing the bed, I gave myself one design constraint,  none of the features would be obvious by just looking at the bed. In other words when you look at the bed the only thing you would see was an elegant but quirky looking bed. All the features would be hiding in plain site.

My goal was to create a super strong bed that looked like a piece of art.  A multifunctional bed filled with secret and magical features that no one could see just by looking at it.

After my bed was brought to life I was so thrilled with the results I thought it would be selfish to not share this creation with the world. Thus was born, Wise & Fit Yoga Beds.

Conceptually speaking, the bed is really an elegant set of monkey bars. Some people have even called it a jungle gym.  Our beds are incredibly sturdy and is designed to do yoga, fitness and physical therapy.

Sustainability is also very important to me which is why I chose bamboo.  Bamboo is the most sustainable building material on the planet.   When you add in the natural beauty of bamboo, you’ve got the perfect building material.

To conclude, if you’re looking for a non-traditional bed that can contribute to your health and well being and is a whole lot of fun, you’ve come to the right place.

Thoughtfully yours,

Konrad Adderley
